Deferred Payment Plan (DPP)
The University offers the Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) to assist individuals who are unable to pay the complete tuition and fees at the start of the semester. Through a Deferred Payment Agreement, students, parents, or guardians can make payments in installments over a period of 3 months. It is important to note that any charges not included in the deferred payment agreement must be paid in full during the registration process.
The Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) comprises of only two options:
Option 1: Unequal Monthly Payments Installment Plan
With this choice, students/parents/guardians have the option to defer 40% of the total charges. At the beginning of the semester, a minimum of 60% of all charges (including Tuition and Fees) must be paid to complete the registration process.
The deferred 40% is then split into two monthly installment payments, with the first installment covering 60% of the remaining balance and the second installment covering 40% of the remaining balance. Additionally, a 5% service charge is applied to the total deferred outstanding balance.
It is important to make payments on time, as a late fee of 30,000 Naira will be charged for each month of delayed payment. Out of the two options available, this is the more cost-effective alternative.
Option 2: Equal Monthly Payment Plan
This option allows the student/parents/guardian to split the tuition and fees into three monthly installments. The first installment, which constitutes 33% of the total tuition/fees, is due at the start of the semester.
However, it is important to note that the remaining two payments will incur a service fee. Although this plan increases the overall cost, it provides a more flexible payment option compared to the Unequal Payments Installment Plan.
It is important for students to keep in mind that these fees are subject to change and may vary depending on the student’s program and individual circumstances.
The AUN Graduate School also offers financial aid and scholarship opportunities for eligible students to help ease the financial burden of pursuing a graduate degree.
Pursuing a graduate degree at the American University of Nigeria is a significant investment, but the university offers a variety of programs and opportunities for students to excel in their chosen fields. It is essential for prospective students to carefully consider the costs associated with their program and plan accordingly to ensure a successful and fulfilling graduate school experience.
