Full-time and part-time students have the same general entrance requirements, but the application procedures and financial information differ for part-time students.

Rivers State University Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission into the Rivers State University Port-Harcourt are expected to have a minimum of five ‘O’ Level Credits at one or two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects relevant to the course of study in SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC and NECO or any other equivalent certificates.

Also, when registering for the JAMB examination, you must choose Rivers State University (RSU) as your first and most preferred choice of institution. In addition, you must meet the minimum cut-off mark for admission.

For admission via direct entry:

  • Candidates must have A’ level/IJMB passes in two subjects that are related to their area of study.
  • JUPEB/A’ Level passes in Related subjects.
  • A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects relating to the course you want to study in not more than two sittings.
